1935 Bentley 3.5L Vanden Plas Tourer

Chassis B175DK

Fitted with an early Vanden Plas Touring body, this charming 3 ½ Litre Bentley is remarkably original. Records show, the Vanden Plas coachwork was ordered by Major Chandler, who took the Bentley to India whilst posted there. He paid £210 10s for the coachwork. In a period Rolls-Royce publication, ‘The Derby Bentley’, is a period photo of Major Chandler, at the wheel on the streets of Calcutta.

Clearly an example deserving of preservation over restoration, Fiskens proudly presented this Derby Bentley to the previous owner, almost two decades ago. Restoration of the seats, and the little restoration work done, has been sympathetic in nature. More recently, renowned marque specialists Frank Dale & Stepsons have carried out a major service, also fitting an overdrive to provide greater flexibility and pleasure to modern motorway driving. This 3.5 litre Derby Bentley is the perfect way to celebrate 100 years of the Bentley marque. Offering great value for money, combined with one of the most pleasurable driving experiences, of any 1930s automobile.
