Today, Fiskens’ mews is never without an example of motorsport’s glorious past.
It’s been the staple of our business with some of the rarest, most successful and iconic competition and racing cars of the last 100 years having passed over the Kensington cobbles.
Key to the development of historic motor sport was the mantra ‘race it on a Sunday, sell it on a Monday’ and we believe that as a company we are better served to advise clients by putting our money where our mouth is and to go racing!
This firsthand experience gives us a rounded, honest and intimate understanding of our product. Our clients gain a lot of confidence knowing that the feedback that we give them from our experiences on the circuit will help them make the correct decisions. Everyone at Fiskens has experienced motorsport at one level or another.
Equally adept in modern as he is in classic racing cars, Gregor holds the distinction of having contested the Le Mans 24 Hours across all four classes, from being a works driver for Courage in their LMP1 C70 prototype, to a factory backed, Labre run Aston Martin DBR9 in the road-based GT1 category. But while he can still be found hustling contemporary sportscars from time to time, it’s the classic racing arena in which he has gained a reputation as one of the world’s best, but also most trusted, drivers.
Worldwide gatherings like the Goodwood Revival, Le Mans Classic and Mille Miglia have helped spread the appeal and profile of classic motorsport in recent years. It’s at these events where Gregor is entrusted by clients to quickly, but safely, showcase one of their own cars.
Gregor’s historic racing CV includes victories in the Monaco Historic GP, Goodwood Tourist Trophy and Tour Auto in iconic cars such as the Ferrari P3, Maserati 250F, Jaguar E-Type, McLaren F1 GTR, Ferrari 250 GTO and his own ex-1965 Ford France GT40 have all featured Gregor behind the wheel in what’s been a career as diverse as it has successful.
Few, if any, other historic automobile specialist can lay claim to this level of personal involvement and it goes to show that we at Fiskens appreciate just how important it is to be involved in our business from every possible angle.
